的功能：
抗體的主要功能是與抗原（包括外來的和自身的）相結合，從而有效地清除侵入機體內的微生物、寄生蟲等異物，抗體（antibody）是一種應答抗原產生的、可與抗原特異性結合的蛋白質。每種抗體與特定的抗原決定基結合。這種結合可以使抗原失活，也可能無效但有時也會對機體造成病理性損害，如抗核抗體、抗雙鏈DNA抗體、抗甲狀腺球蛋白抗體等一些自身抗體的產生，對人體可造成危害。
儲存溫度：存在于血清、組織培養上清液或腹水中的抗體在-20℃下能夠*儲存。低溫存放不會損傷抗體活性。抗體的工作液通常儲存于4℃中。此溫度下，抗體的活性能穩定數月至數年亦不損失。抗體溶液不應反復凍融，因為反復凍融將導致部分抗體失活并產生不需要的蛋白—蛋白凝聚物。抗體的凝聚能導致活性喪失。這是由于抗原結合位點的空間構象被破壞，或由于產生的不溶物被離心或過濾而除去。冷凝蛋白類的抗體不能存放于4℃。因為在4℃下此類抗體會發生沉淀。一些鼠源性IgG3亞類的抗體有此特性。如果抗體在4℃下發生沉淀，就應該存放于室溫下的疊氮鈉溶液中。
